To promote, govern and improve organized soccer in the City of Brampton and to foster among its members, supporters and teams a general community of spirit. To help individuals to develop their character as resourceful and responsible Members of their community by providing opportunities, through the game of soccer, for their mental, physical, social and leadership development. To maintain and increase interest in the game of soccer. To have and exercise general care, supervision and direction over the playing interests of its teams and members.
Brampton Youth Soccer Club
Established in 1970 and incorporated in 1979, Brampton Youth Soccer Club currently has over 3,000 year-round registrations.
BYSC is a non-profit organization run by a board of directors who are elected by the members of the club at our Annual General Meeting.
BYSC provides year round development programs for players, coaches, and referees.
A professional staff is currently employed to oversee and coordinate the programs of BYSC. Pat Brodie is currently the Club's Technical Director.
In the event that any member feels that he or she has suffered discrimination in any way or that the Club Policies, Rules or Code of Conduct have been broken they should follow the procedures below:
1. They should report the matter to the Club Secretary.
2. Put their complaint in writing using the BYSC Incident Form.
3. The Club Management Committee will sit for any hearings that are requested.
The Club shall adhere to the Harassment Policy as published and approved by the OSA from time to time. The Harassment Policy shall apply to all employees, directors, offices, volunteers, coaches, game officials, administrators, players, Members and registrants of the Club. Harassment is defined as any comment, conduct, or gesture directed towards an individual or group of individuals which is insulting, intimidating, malicious, degrading or offensive. It includes, but is not limited to, sexual harassment.
Volunteer Screening Policy
The Brampton Youth Soccer Club supports the initiative of Ontario Soccer and adopts its policy and procedures for Volunteer Screening.
Educating participants, coaches, managers, leaders, and volunteers about abuse and harassment is very important. The Brampton Youth Soccer Club recognizes that the organization has a responsibility to appropriately screen any person who will have access to vulnerable people. This responsibility is both moral and legal; it is not only the “right” thing to do but it is legislated under the “Duty of Care” concept.
“Duty of Care” is a legal principle that identifies the obligations of individuals and organizations to take reasonable measures to care for and protect their clients. It is important to understand that Canadian courts will uphold organizations’ responsibilities to screen carefully. This is part of their “Duty to Care.”

Soccer belongs to and should be enjoyed by, anyone who wants to participate in it. Our commitment is to confront and eliminate discrimination whether by reason of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or belief, ability or disability and to encourage equal opportunities. This policy is fully supported by the Club Officers who are responsible for the implementation of this policy.
The Brampton Youth Soccer Club, in all its activities will not discriminate, or in any way treat anyone less favourably, on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or belief, ability or disability. It means that The Brampton Youth Soccer Club will ensure that it treats people fairly and with respect and that it will provide access and opportunities for all members of the community to take part in, and enjoy, its activities.
The Brampton Youth Soccer Club is committed to a policy of equal treatment of all members and requires all members to abide and adhere to these policies and the requirements of the Declaration of Expectations for Fairness in Sport (the London Declaration) 2001, Canadian Human Rights Act 1985 and Employment Equity Act 1995 as well as any amendments to these acts and any new legislation.
The Brampton Youth Soccer Club will not tolerate harassment, bullying, abuse or victimization of an individual, which for the purposes of this policy and the actions and sanction applicable is regarded as discrimination. This includes sexual or racially based harassment or other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal.
