The Brampton Youth Soccer Club (BYSC) is a non-profit youth sports organization run by volunteers, just like you.
For the outdoor league program, each player will be issued a uniform consisting of a jersey, shorts, and socks. This is the uniform that is covered in your registration fees and MUST be the only uniform worn to games. If the uniform does not fit properly, suitable arrangements can be made through your team’s coach to correct this. Players will need to provide their own soccer shoes or cleats, and a pair of shin guards. Shin guards must be worn at all times during practices and games. Absolutely no jewellery is to be worn during practices or games as a safety precaution.
In the outdoor program, each player will also be provided with a soccer ball, and individual and team pictures. The BYSC will hold all unclaimed pictures until September 30th, after which they will be destroyed.
Player requests for specific coaches or players on their team are discouraged in order to prevent the development of teams with uneven skill distributions. Any such request will be given consideration on an individual, case-by-case basis; no guarantees will be given.
Volunteer Coaches for U13 – U18 will be required to complete the OSA online module for U11 - U18 Coaches.
At the beginning of a new season, coaches will contact parents by email 10 to 14 days before the season starts.
Coaches from U06 - U18 may schedule a practice each week. However, weekly practices are not mandatory and are at the discretion of the coach. Practices will be held on our local fields within the City of Brampton. If you are concerned your team is not getting enough practice time, please talk to your coach. Sometimes, offering to help with organizing practices, or assisting the coach during the season can be part of the solution.
BYSC’s Club Policy is such that each micro, mini, and house league player must play a minimum of 50% of each game; this is considered equal playing time by the club.
All games will be played on our local fields within the City of Brampton. All outdoor games MUST begin and end on time, as the fields are heavily booked outside of scheduled game times.
On the last day of the season, U04 - U05 players will receive a participation trophy. U06 - U12 player will receive a particpation medal. U13 - U18 players will have the opportunity to win a LEAGUE CHAMPION medals during the cup final match.
Be the change you want to see. Sportsmanship is best expressed through leadership and example. Keep this in mind at all times when dealing with coaches, referees, players, and parents. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone involved, including players, supporters, and parents.
Outdoor League Programs
Micro League U4 - U5
The Micro League is an exciting way for young children to begin their soccer career. Weekly sessions will be organized, where mentor coaches set up drills designed to develop fundamental soccer skills. This will be followed by a small sided scrimmage to introduce players to the dynamic of team play. Coaches for this age group are typically parents of one of the players. Parents are encouraged to get involved with practices and help out. Don’t be shy! Step up and make a difference.
Mini League U6 – U10
The Mini league is where actual game play begins. Coaches may schedule weekly practices, and teams will participate in one game each week. Attendance at practice is not mandatory. However, practices are often where coaches provide one-on-one instruction for player’s to further develop their skills. In the spirit of Long Term Player Development (LTPD), no scores or standings will be kept during games to encourage the development of skills, rather than promoting competition. Parents are encouraged to cheer for teams, coaches, and game officials regardless of their performance. Coaches for this age group are typically volunteer parents, or students. Coaching can be an excellent way to teach your little one about the value of team play and how everyone can make a contribution, no matter how small.
House League U11 – U18
In the House League, LTPD is continued until U13, when competitive play begins. Starting from U13, we keep scores and standings, and organize playoffs and a cup final during each season. With exciting action and lively spectators, this age group has become the highlight of our club! Players of every skill level (from novice to veteran) are represented on each team in order to create balanced teams with competitive and rewarding game play. With weekly games and scheduled practices, recreational play at the level is inviting for all players. Coaches for this age group are typically volunteers with previous soccer experience, as play at this level is competitive.
